Secret Maneuvers by Jessie Lane

Ex-Op #1   Secret Maneuvers          4.5 Stars

Some mistakes from the past haunt us forever... unless fate steps in with a second chance.

One 'dear John' letter haunts Bobby Baker's every living moment. It’s the letter he stupidly wrote to his high school sweetheart, Belle, right after he left to join the Army. The letter that he told her that he wasn't so sure if they were ready for forever yet. But before he can let her know that the letter, and his second thoughts, are nothing but a mistake, she up and disappears from the small Georgia town they were both raised in.

Fifteen years later, Belle unknowingly walks back into Bobby's life when her job as an ATF Agent forces her to work with a group of men secretly headed by the CIA to help her track down whoever is involved in funneling black market weapons to a drug cartel in Mexico.

Bobby will use this mission to try and soothe Belle's hurt feelings while proving to her that their love is still meant for forever. He'll use every dirty trick he's learned since he joined the Army to maneuver her back into his life for the long haul. But Belle's not making it easy as she keeps him at arm's length in the hopes that mistakes of her own never come to light.

About the Author+ Jessie Lane

Jessie Lane is the writing team of Melissa Pahl and Crystal Leo. The two sisters-in-law share a passionate love of naughty romance, cliff hanging suspense, and out-of-this-world characters that demand your attention, or threaten to slap you around until you do pay attention to them. Because really, it is ALL about the characters. (They're kind of megalomaniacs - but don't tell them that we said that.)

Their first YA novel, The Burning Star, was released in May 2012. Big Bad Bite is their second novel, but their first adult paranormal romance, and was released in January 2013. Their third book, Secret Maneuvers, will release in June 2013, and will be the start of a new adult contemporary romance series (Ex Ops Series). They are now working...more

My Review- As part of the authors book tour it was my pleasured to receive and to read this book. After reading-Big Bad Bite (another wonderful book) -I knew that this book would be outstanding also.
Our main characters were great -and you could feel there energy and passion flow through the book. Both characters had strong personalities but you could feel the depth of there attraction in the book. Strong men and women doing strong jobs to help defend our rights. Also the book had lots of great twist and turns in the plot to keep the story interesting. Bobby and Belle the perfect couple with flaws to keep them human .
Cant wait for the next book-this book had great minor characters that would make great he ro for next book!

4 Star Review!!

An Adult Urban Fantasy Romance set in a United States where vampires are another oppressed minority in search of cultural acceptance, and featuring a ruling family that wants to change that — the Fiscards.

But not every vampire wants to be assimilated, and not everybody approves of the obvious attraction between Aurora Lake and the vampire Sebastian Fiscard.

As they struggle with their own feelings and with unseen, ancient forces trying to put a stop to their work — and to Aurora — will Aurora and Sebastian overcome The Resistance? And what about their resistance to what their own hearts. mortal,& immortal know to be true.

About this author
My Review-of The Vampire Code-  I received this book from the author to read and right a honest review, My honest opinion is that this is a great book -something needed in the vampire gender of books. This book show vampire as real people and no sparkly need apply. Also this book is a book about love-family obligation-and justice. No -any system is flawed but this was done in a positive way. Also our characters were believable and the drama kept you turning the pages  until the end. I am so glad that this is only the first book because I am looking forward to reading the next books to see what happens

Lightning Rider Blog Tour May21-June22

     Bog Tour --May 21-June 22

Lightning Rider

Jen Greyson
The Writer's Coffee Shop Publishing House

For Evy Rivera, thunderstorms have always caused her physical pain, but she's never known why. When a record-setting storm arrives on the same night her father finds ancient ancestral documents, Evy is set aglow with mysterious tiny lightnings she can command.
Even worse, she alerts some people in the universe who've been looking for her family for a very long time.
Thrown back into ancient Spain and tasked with killing a Spanish legend, she must train alongside Constantine, a sexy yet obstinate Roman warrior. He teaches her how to wield her lightning as a weapon, through more errors than trials. With a relationship as explosive as their late-night training sessions, Evy and Constantine battle their push-pull relationship while trying to ignore the two-thousand-year difference in their birthdates.
Ilif Rotiart, her quasi-mentor, is appalled at Evy's skill. He would prefer to train her father and keep Evy on the sidelines—where women belong. Evy has a feeling Ilif is keeping something from them, but she must play nice until she uncovers the truth. And if he's lying, it will be the worst day of his four-hundred-year life.
Penya Sepadas claims she's Evy's rightful trainer, and she has the prophecy to prove it. Penya doesn't share Ilif's misogynistic attitude, but she does have her own agenda . . . and her own secrets.
Evy must sort through the lies and find the truth behind her family's time-traveling past before the wrong history obliterates the future. She’s spent her whole life fighting for her place. Now, as the first female lightning rider, she'll dedicate her existence to fighting to save the world.
But will Evy learn to manage her lightning and find the truth before it's too late?
My thoughts- I requested this book from NetGalley not even knowing this was a new author. I thought lets try it! I was greatly surprised that this was a spectacular first book from this author and cant wait for the follow up! Our Hispanic heron is bad at picking men but little known by her she is the first female lightning rider in her family. Love all the characters in the story and the book plot is fasted paced and exciting. Also we cant forget our alpha hunk Constantine 0not shabby for an older man.
A great book to start a new series with kick ass heron that can time travel and all the joy and problems associated with that, Hopefully we will see more exciting books from this  new author in the future!

From the moment she decided on a degree in Equestrian Studies, Jen Greyson’s life has been one unscripted adventure after another. Leaving the cowboy state of Wyoming to train show horses in France, Switzerland, and Germany, she’s lived life without much of a plan, but always a book in her suitcase. Now a wife and mom to two young boys, she relies on her adventurous, passionate characters to be the risk- takers.

Jen also writes university courses and corporate training material when she’s not enjoying the wilds of the west via wakeboard or snowmobile.    web site
